A lot of news thing have been added to Pokemon Go recently like Generation II Pokemon, lot of events (Pikachu with hats, double candy and other). All these are welcomed changes but some major things that need to be fix are Gym battle, may be a better tracking and we still didn’t have much awaited features like breeding or trading.
Wait for trading might be over soon
Pokemon Go developer Niantic has been more forthcoming of late with their plans for new Android and Apple updates, the latest being how trading is set to be used. Senior product manager Tatsuo Nomura talked more on the new feature as GDC 2017, including how the new system of switching Pokemon is going to work. According to Nomura, Pokemon Go trading will allow for players to trade their excess Pokemon with other players in their proximity. It means those in large populated areas will have no problem finding someone to trade with, however, there will be no additional internet-based options included.
He told, “We don’t want to just have that be an online game that you can just exchange virtually.”
“You shouldn’t be able to exchange your Pokemon with someone who is 100 miles away from you … The person needs to be in your proximity,” he added.
In a recent interview, Niantic’s John Hanke confirmed monster trading and player-versus-player battles were “on the way”, and “if the servers hadn’t been so sketchy at launch, at least one of them would already be out there”.
Even though Trading is definitely coming, no firm release date was given for the new Pokemon Go trading update, but Niantic has confirmed that they hope to launch it at some point in 2017. The Pokemon Go July anniversary would seem the most likely date for such a huge change to be made to the game, with other big updates also promised for this year.
According to the interview, various patching and bug-fixing for the game caused new features to ultimately stall as the team set to work making fixes. A decision which ultimately Hanke believes was “probably the right thing to do”.
