A lot have happened in Pokemon Go lately, we now have been catching Legendaries for months, Halloween event , Gen 3 is around the corner and we might soon get PVP battles.
But thing in terms of using Pokemon’s to fight in the Gyms or Raids, and Defending a Gym have not changed much. Most of the trainers rely on a some selected Pokemon’s. If you are tired of holding 6 of the same Pokemon and want to diversify your attackers (perhaps at the cost of efficiency in Raids and Gym battles). To do so, here is the list of best attackers of each type. This list was made by Redditer pnr32 and we will try to build upon it.
Here is the process used:
- Listed the top DPS’er of each type first
- Filtered by type
- Sorted by CP first and added the top 6
- Sorted attack and added any that were not in the CP sort’s top 6
- I then made sure there were at least 2 from Gen 1/2
- I then included each mon’s “ideal” or top rated moveset (legacy in parenthesis) of each type from gamepress and bolded the mon who can have both a quick and charge move with the type bonus. Italicized mon can have attacks of the type, but are not of the type.
- I then moved Gen 3 to the bottom of each list since we can’t really judge them without movesets, but want to keep us aware of them
When analyzing lists like this, it is best to stick with one single mode of comparison. No list is perfect, a lot of factors matter, and matter at different times. This list value bulk slightly higher than your original DPS assessment did, and is basing their rankings on TDO rather than DPS.
I Personally like TDO, since bulk is what matters most often, generally speaking, while max DPS matters solely for maxing ball counts in a raid and not much else (solo T3’s as well).
When you are comparing Pokemon’s whose DSP is within a few points of each other, the bulk really stands out at the end of the day. This is a RAW lists and an end all ranking of things to be powered up in order.
