Raid Bosses don’t run away in Pokémon Go until the trainer’s Premier Balls are used up. That’s common knowledge among players. But trainers are perplexed after one player recorded a video showing a Raid Boss fleeing before all Premier Balls were thrown.
On Monday, a user uploaded a video onto YouTube depicting a capture sequence between a trainer and an Entei Raid Boss. After Entei escaped from one Premier Ball, the game’s log reports that the Pokémon fled the scene altogether, sending the player back into the game’s map.
As though, the trainer still received 10,110 XP from the encounter, almost as if the trainer completed the Raid and successfully captured Entei. So it’s unclear if Entei actually escaped, or if the game is just displaying information incorrectly.
Strange, right? Few reports exist about the bug, and it’s unclear if it can be replicated at all. This may just be an elaborate hoax. But for now, it’s leaving some fans wondering whether there’s a Raid Boss bug plaguing Pokémon Go, and if it can be fixed by simply restarting the game.
